A monumental power station, built on the shores of Lake Garda in the 1920s and designed by D’Annunzio’s architect, Giancarlo Maroni, who had already created the “Vittoriale degli Italiani”. An unexpected and engaging visitor experience, with original multimedia installations, a place to visit, but also to “play”. A unique opportunity for everyone, adults and children, to discover how water is transformed into clean energy. The hydroelectric power station of Riva del Garda, majestic and imposing, overlooking the lake, is a jewel of architecture and engineering and awaits you to unveil all its wonders.

Santa Massenza Hydroelectric Power Station

A fascinating journey to discover the wonders guarded by the Santa Massenza power station, the most powerful plant in Trentino. A surprising experience, through unprecedented paths, where water becomes energy. The power station is part of a complex system that, through a vast network of tunnels, penstocks, and hydraulic works, brings water from the Adamello peaks to Lake Garda. The building of the power station is the work of architect Giovanni Muzio, already the creator of the headquarters of the Università Cattolica and the Palazzo della Triennale in Milan, as well as the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth. The spectacular turbine hall, with a volume of over 150,000 cubic meters, is entirely excavated in the rock at a depth of 600 meters.
