An autumn walk to discover Monte Baldo

Immerse yourself in the dense woods of the Monte Baldo Nature Park, listen to the breath of the centuries-old trees all around you and be inspired by the autumn colours tinging their fronds gold, orange and red.

Autumn reflections at Lago di Prà da Stua

The loop hike begins by skirting the picturesque Lago di Prà da Stua to admire the colours of the forest reflected in its clear waters, and then continues along the bed of the Aviana torrent to enter the beech forest. At the end of the walk, typical lunch at the Baita del Trett.

  • When: Sunday, October 15th
  • Where: meeting at 9.30 a.m. at the square near the Prà da Stua lake dam (exact coordinates will be sent by email to participants)
  • Length: 5,6 km
  • Duration: 4 and a half hours (stops and lunch included)
  • Height difference: about 200 metres
  • Difficulty: easy, suitable for children of at least 6 years old. Also doable with a trekking buggy (with large wheels).
  • Clothing: comfortable for walking, trekking shoes or hiking boots, raincoat, rucksack and water bottle.

Walk through the centuries-old chestnut groves of Monte Baldo Park (free experience – lunch is not included)

The hike starts in Brentonico along a short climb with a view of the mountain village from above. Passing by the ruins of the ancient “Castrum Brentonicum”, you will descend gently through centuries-old chestnut woods where you will be enchanted by the autumn colours and the view of the valley and surrounding mountains, finally arriving at the hamlet of Castione, known for its product of excellence: the Marrone chestnut. At the end of the walk, lunch with local products at the Azienda Agricola Viesi Carlo.

  • When: Saturday, October the 21st and Sunday, October 22nd
  • Where: meeting at 9.30 a.m. at Parco Cesare Battisti in Brentonico
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Height difference: about 200 metres
  • Difficulty: easy, suitable for everyone. Also doable with a trekking buggy (with large wheels)
  • Clothing: comfortable for walking, trekking shoes or hiking boots, raincoat, rucksack and water bottle.

    Cost of the experience in Prà della Stua (15th October): € 33 adults and € 19 children 6-10 years old, including walk and lunch.

    Participants: Minimum 6, maximum 25 people (experience for adults and children 6 years and older).

    Registration: by noon on the day before the activity. In case of cancellation (decided by Apt and due to force majeure) the registration fee will be refunded.

    Note: The experience on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October is cost-free and managed directly by the organisers of the ‘Festa del Marrone’ in Brentonico.
