Rifugio Altissimo Damiano Chiesa

A refuge built in 1892 a few meters below the top of Monte Altissimo, at 2060 meters height in the splendid Monte Baldo Natural Park, where you can taste traditional Trentino dishes while enjoying a view of all the surrounding mountains and the nearby Lake Garda.

From the Dolomites to the Po Valley, up to the Apennines and the Garda: at the Rifugio Altissimo Damiano Chiesa you will enjoy a lunch or dinner with a view, the best reward after a healthy walk at high altitude.

Here you will find the typical dishes of Trentino tradition, cooked with high quality and zero kilometer products. Tasty platters of cold cuts and mountain cheeses accompanied by homemade bread, the delicious canederli with butter and sage or goulash and the second courses, such as grilled cheese, rabbit, lucanica or mushrooms with sauerkraut, all accompanied by an excellent polenta cooked on the wood stove in the traditional copper pot.

Do you want something sweet? The refuge will offer you its special homemade buckwheat cakes with berries jam or the classic tarts. To end your meal, you can taste the many flavored grappas prepared with mountain herbs.
