Eugenio Rosi winery

A local winemaker who produces wines with passion

You can decide to make wine for a million reasons: passion, business, family heritage or simple work. Eugenio Rosi chose to it for the simplest one: he has always loved being in the countryside.

Eugenio Rosi defines himself as an artisan winemaker. His childhood memories are linked with this world and its beauty since the age of 10 when he used to happily follow his father in the countryside, later maturing the decision to make it the job of his own life.

After various experiences in different cooperative wineries of Vallagarina he finally decided to set up on his own, making wine from the grapes of a small rented plot. The first Esegesi wine was born with the 1997 harvest, a red wine obtained from Cabernet and Merlot grapes.

Among the few rows of his hillside vineyards located between Calliano, Volano and the hills of Rovereto, he collects the bunches of the individual varieties as late as possible. Before pressing them, he lets them ripen further, drying the grapes on special racks, in ventilated structures to infuse the must, and therefore the wine, with grit and a velvety fullness. The refinement is then done only in wood, in large Slavonian oak barrels and to a small extent in cherry barrels.
