A family that has its roots in the history of Trentino wine itself. Tradition and innovation are the creed of the company, constantly applied with modern agronomic practices, with the work and dedication of the new generations.

A family whose members were already active in 1647 in Borghetto d’Avio, on the banks of the Adige river, first as river raftsmen, then traders and shrewd agricultural innovators led by Leonello Letrari who soon introduced them to the wine scene of good drinking. In fact, it is thanks to him that in the immediate post-war period the wines of the Dolomites acquired character and prestige beyond the regional borders and it is always he who began, in the 60s, to develop fine sparkling wines and then founded in 1976 together with his wife Maria Vittoria the current family business.

Tradition and innovation are the creed of the company as well as a great passion transferred from Leonello to his daughter Lucia, an oenologist like her father, who began working in the cellar in the 1980s and who today still holds all the responsibilities related to the company.

Thanks to the particular terroir and Mediterranean microclimate of Vallagarina influenced by river Adige and the “Ora” wind of the nearby Lake Garda, classic wines with strong varietal typicality and the special Trentodoc wines are produced here, an expression of the strong regional vocation. The temperate climate of the area also allows a limited and selected production of extra-virgin olive oil with an exceptional fruity tone.

Letrari winery, with its 16 hectares of vineyards located in different locations of Vallagarina, has its headquarter in the modern and functional cellar of Rovereto, faithful in appearance to rural Trentino architecture and surrounded by a vast garden of Mediterranean species. It is open to visitors all year round and offers tourists the opportunity to learn the “secrets of art“.
